Sound Effects Quiz!

Hey guys so I have created a story, using only sounds. I decided to make mine like a little quiz. Can you guess what my sound effects is about?

Anyway, lets get down to business. Without giving away the answer, I decided instead of using a random selection of files I wanted to try to portray a process. From my perspective, I feel like I have accomplished that. I started by downloading the audio editing software Audacity. From there I went ahead and got sounds from To choose an audio file, I just searched it in the search bar. Here is an example of an audio file search. aa1

In the picture above, you can see the search bar highlighted in red and below the sound file, there is a big yellow button to download. After I clicked download, I opened up my file in Audacity. I did this for each file. The next step was to edit them all together.

I copied a selection of the audio file and hit ctrl+c. Next I went to my main file page and clicked paste. I did this for each sound clip. As you will notice when you listen to my sound, there are a few pauses. This is to portray action transitions. Also at the end I decided to use an effect on my file.

To do that I highlighted a small portion of the end of my file and I selected fade out. Its not a special touch but it helps with the awkwardness of an abrupt ending. Finally I exported the file as an MP3 file (pictured below).

Then my project was complete!

I chose this process because it is something that every person alive goes through everyday. I thought that it would be cool to document it. Without further or due, here is the finished product.

Waking up, making your bed, brushing your teeth, eating breakfast (?), and leaving for the day!

You did a really good job stringing your sounds together – it was clear and easy to recognize! I really like that you made this a guess for everyone to figure out. Also, your walkthrough on how you did the assignment was very easy to follow. Great job!!

Sarah you beat me to it!! I agree, she did an excellent job at combining the sounds to make a story. I could actually imagine what was going throughout the track. Just a suggestion though, I would add a really loud alarm clock sound to add some more effect. However, I don’t normally use an alarm to wake up so maybe that’s not good advice? haha oohh welll, Great Job!

They both beat me to it! As they said, you did a really great job at putting this together. Was the yawning and brushing teeth you doing these things? If so, then the only recommendation I have is to use more sounds that you found online. If not, then you did this assignment perfectly!

So I think that your story is about waking up, falling out of bed, brushing your teeth, making toast, and then leaving.
I say falling out of bed instead of making it because that’s what popped into my head when I listened to it. haha
Nice Post! Way to get people interested! Give them something they have to figure out! I can’t think of anything that I would change! Nice job!
